EDUCATION SEASON 2027
Theatre isn’t homework!
It’s a first encounter your students will never forget.
about our 2027 education program
Sport for Jove's 2027 Education Program has been specifically developed to support teachers and students through the new syllabus — unpacking new curriculum works with the rigour and depth you've come to expect from one of Australia's leading theatre companies, and bringing your students face-to-face with the force, immediacy and risk of live theatre.
We also understand that every school approaches Shakespeare, classic texts and the theatre differently. Which is why we offer a wide range of theatrical productions, lectures, workshops and events, catering to the diverse needs of today’s teachers and students.
2027 Productions
Meaning lives in delivery, not just words. For students encountering complex or unfamiliar texts, seeing these ideas embodied in live performance allows students to experience what no textbook can capture: the electricity of language shared in a room, where every silence, glance and breath becomes part of the play's enduring mystery.
Sport for Jove's Education Productions are bold theatrical encounters, brought to life by talented, professional Shakespearean actors under the vision of some of Australia’s leading directors. Here, the visceral energy of live performance is distilled into the text's essential themes and relationships, illuminating both language and form, and deepening students' understanding of each.

PERFORMANCE SYMPOSIA
Devised by acclaimed director Damien Ryan, Sport for Jove's Performance Symposia Series returns in 2027 with an unmissable fusion of live theatre and exam-ready analysis. Watch the plays' pivotal scenes performed live on stage by actors, then go deeper as our team explore multiple layers of meaning in these classic texts, through sophisticated, evidence-based critical and creative commentary.
This is the full package: the raw, visceral connection to the drama that brings a text to life, paired with the precise analytical tools students need to write with confidence under exam conditions. We distill the key ingredients — language, character, structure, meaning — into curriculum-aligned insights built from more than three decades of teaching experience.
shakespeare carnival
Sport for Jove’s Shakespeare Carnival takes the sometimes daunting prospect of studying Shakespeare and turns it into a confidence-building, performance-championing event.
Inspired by the works of the Bard, students act, devise, direct, compose and choreograph their own performance pieces, competing against one another for the chance to represent their school in this NSW and ACT-wide creative arts competition.
Raise the curtain on something different this year: register your school, watch your students find courage they didn't know they had, and discover how Shakespeare opens up a world of creative opportunities.

IN-SCHOOL RESIDENCIES
Our In-School Residency Program delivers in-depth textual analysis, alongside practical, hands-on learning opportunities that get students up and engaging with the text themselves, turning Shakespeare from a subject to be studied into a story to be lived. Every aspect of the work is geared towards the curriculum and is tailored to the specific needs of your students.
This immersive and entirely practical multi-day experience catapults students straight onto the stage with professional actors and directors, culminating in a live performance for friends and family.
